Hymn for Her

$10 (to be collected at door)

Lucy Tight & Wayne Waxing are "Hymn For Her", a band that hails from anywhere they can park their trailer. H4H live, tour and record in their 16 foot, 1961 Bambi Airstream (comes with dog and baby). Their new release, 'Lucy & Wayne and THE AMAIRICAN STREAM' was entirely recorded in their classic trailer on a coast to coast U.S tour. They stopped at various campgrounds and friends’ driveways between shows, set up their gear in their Bambi/home recording studio, rolled tape and rocked out. Many photographs and videos were taken during this endeavour. The album was mixed by Jim Diamond (who did the first White Stripes record) and captures the live, raucous sounds of H4H.

"Ebullient choruses and complicated moods Literate verse and ravaged guitars and a level of composition and craftsmanship that brings to mind Lucinda Williams, Tom Petty, and Ryan Adams.” - Boston Globe

"It's no wonder that Amelia White is being touted as the next Lucinda Williams…but White has her own strong songs, and strong style.” - Washington Post

Perhaps her producer Marco Giovino explains Amelia’s music best: “How Van Gogh used canvas and paint to make his timeless masterpieces, Amelia uses lyric and melody to create songs that will touch and leave a lasting impression on every mood you've ever felt.”

The Lewis Brothers

$6

Eventually, it was going to happen.

Three brothers, all with vastly different music backgrounds, would end up in the same band, aptly named the Lewis Brothers. Russell P., Richard, and Jeff Lewis, combined with percussionist Dennis Foreman, form an exciting arrangement of eclectic and electric folk, rock, country, and general hillbillery. Songwriting duties are traded as often as they swap instruments on stage.

Jeff, formerly of the bluegrass outfit Big Scioto, brings a keen sense of melody and instrumentation. Richard, frontman of the now-defunct pop band Schooley Station, weaves thick harmonies and solid rhythm. Russell, in his first formal group, contributes traditional banjo with an unorthodox twist. The brothers' captivating energy is fueled by Foreman (formerly of Jakob Freely), who's background in world rhythms is applied to a drum kit nicely.

Call it punk-a-billy with traditional instruments. Call it supercharged folk rock. At any rate, call it fun.

The Farewell Drifters

$15

They have been delighting audiences everywhere from MerleFest to intimate listening rooms with their dynamic performances, and their album “Yellow Tag Mondays” debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart.
